  • My bamboo flute Joyce, is a very patient instructor. Learning under her tutelage is not pressurizing and she is mindful to do adhoc recap of techniques, which come in handy, from time to time. She is a 笛子instructor whom I will strongly recommend for enthusiasts and/or amateurs. Getting a qualified instructor is one, having an instructor who patiently goes through the routine and fundamentals is another. Joyce is also very strong in her technicals.

  • My 6 year old son and I really enjoy flute lessons with teacher Minh Trang. She makes lessons very fun for my son, to maintain his interest in flute playing. As for myself, I learnt to play the flute many years back, and needed a teacher for a refresher course. Teacher Minh Trang covered the basics with me in detail to ensure that I grasp this first before going to intermediate/ advanced level playing.

  • Technique is of paramount importance when it comes to playing music. I have been with teacher Joyce (bamboo flute) for 2 years. She has taught me the necessary fundamentals in the playing of the Chinese flute. Under her patient teaching and guidance, I achieved distinction in both grade 5 and 8 dizi examinations. I believe that her teaching is commendable and very suitable for students who are still grasping their basics in Chinese flute.

  • The flute is a wind instruments and it is relatively easier to learn compared to the violin, viola or cello. Do not second guess the difficulty of learning to play the flute. Contact Stradivari Strings at +65-98137769 to arrange a trial lesson to experience it.
  • The flute is played by blowing into a mouth piece. In doing so you exercise your diaphragm and core muscles. Playing a piece of flute music is similar to doing planking for several intense minutes. You do expand your lung capacity over time.
  • Working on lesson frequency of once a week, one can take six months to a few years to master playing the flute with flute classes. If you have music background, you will pick up the techniques faster. If you devote adequate practice time on the flute, you will also master it better.
  • The best age to start flute lessons is 7 to 10 years old. Any younger, the child may not have the strength to hold the flute for long period of time.
